Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the Test of English as a foreign language are required to enter college both at home and abroad. In general, this test is to assess writing, grammar, reading, and listening skills.
The test is divided into four parts: grammar structure and written expression, writing, reading comprehension, and listening comprehension. However, the listening session is considered the most crucial; the participants’ scores usually fall on that part.
An English-based student activity unit called English Garden Prosperity (EGP) Faculty of Animal Science Universitas Brawijaya (Fapet UB) provides tips and tricks for its members in doing part listings C. The activities are wrapped through weekly education, guided by a senior EGP member, Meilina Rizky, online Friday (1/9/2021).
The trick for working on a listening session is to focus on the options while simultaneously reading the options while listening to the audio. Where the points to focus on are anticipate questions and anticipate topics.
After the presentation of the material, participants were given a quiz to measure their level of understanding. So the hope is that they can improve the English language skills of EGP members and get a TOEFL score of <400. (dta)
