The 4th ICESAI: Discusses the Green Economy and Smart Livestock Systems to Support a Sustainable Livestock Industry

The Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Universitas Brawijaya (Fapet UB) again held the 4th International Conference on Environmentally Sustainable Animal Industry (ICESAI), Wednesday (26/10/2023). The activity, which was held online, is a regular annual international seminar since 2020, to facilitate livestock actors to hold discussions on livestock issues. At the same time increasing the Faculty ranking through international publications and proceedings as activity output.

This was conveyed by the chief executive, Eko Nugroho, S.Pt., M.Sc., Ph.D. in his speech. He reported that the conference committee received and selected 59 papers that would be presented and discussed online and offline at this event. These selected abstracts provide a good overview of the scope and breadth of research from participants from various countries.

Onplenary session bringkeynote speaker livestock experts from within and outside the country. Among themProf. Simon Oosting(Wageningen University & Research, Netherlands), Prof. Joey Jai-Wei Lee(National Pingtung University of Science and Technology, Taiwan), Prof. Hendrawan Soetanto(Brawijaya University, Indonesia),Dr. Wantamas Jantasin(Maejo University, Thailand).

Meanwhile, the parallel sessions were divided into nine based on sub-themes. Among othersFeed Resources and Technology, Animal Products and Sustainable Post-Harvest Technology Local Animal Resources, Socio-Economic Studies and Community Development Sustainable Animal Production Systems, Animal Products and Sustainable Post-Harvest Technology, Feed Resources and Technology, Feed Resources and Technology, Local Animal Resources,Socio-Economic Studies and Community Development, and  Sustainable Animal Production Systems.

The theme raised at the fourth ICESAI this time was “Green Economy and Smart Farming System to Support Sustainable Livestock Industry”. Which will discuss the Green Economy and Smart Agricultural Systems to Support the Sustainable Livestock Industry and cover five different topics, such as Animal Products and Sustainable Post-Harvest Technology, Feed Resources and Technology, Local Animal Resources, Socioeconomic and Community Development Studies, and Systems Sustainable Livestock Production.

“Through this activity, it is hoped that researchers and the livestock industry from all over the world can share experiences, learn and expand networks regarding the development of a sustainable and environmentally friendly livestock industry.”AEO
