The Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Universitas Brawijaya (Fapet UB) again held the 10th International Conference of Innovation in Animal Science (The 10th ICIAS) Faculty of Animal Science, Universitas Brawijaya, Malang, Indonesia, Tuesday (07/11/2023)

This event was officially opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry Prof. Dr. Ir. Halim Natsir, S.Pt.,MP.,IPM.ASEAN Eng. In his speech he said that through ICIAS we can find out about research topics being carried out by other researchers in various regions or countries so that we can develop our research directions and topics in the future. We can also use ICIAS as a medium to build research collaboration and networking with researchers from other institutions to strengthen our research foundation. Through ICIAS, some information regarding current and crucial problems in the livestock sector and their solutions can be summarized so that it is hoped that they will be able to overcome several problems in the livestock sector. I believe that the scientific information presented in ICIAS is very important for solving various scientific problems and in practical conditions. So by referring to the new findings, researchers outlined in their scientific work will be able to immediately increase the efficiency of livestock productivity and increase profits for breeders.

Dr. Premy Puspitawati Rahayu, S.Pt., MP. as chief executive said that this year’s ICIAS aims to facilitate discussion and strengthen collaboration between academics, government, industry professionals and society to achieve the 2045 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through scientific research and stakeholder networks for sustainable livestock production. In particular, ICIAS also strives to be a forum for students to showcase their research and innovation in the field of animal science.

This year’s ICIAS theme is “Innovation and Collaboration in Livestock Systems to Achieve SDGs 2045.” We have received a total of 79 submissions from researchers and experts from various countries, including Malaysia, Australia, Germany, South Korea, Thailand, Taiwan, and of course Indonesia. Selected articles will be published on the BIO Web of Conference, proceedings that are internationally recognized and indexed by Scopus. Premy said

The plenary session brought keynote speakers from animal husbandry experts from within and outside the country. Among them Prof. Loh Teck Chwen (Universiti Putra Malaysia, Malaysia), Dr.Ir. Eko Widodo, M.Agr.Sc.,M.Sc. (Brawijaya University), Danny Le Feuvre, M. Agribus. (Australian Honey Bee Industry, Australia), Prof. Helen Louton (Universität Rostock, Germany), Muhammad Muchlas, S.Pt., M.Pt. Chonnam National University, South Korea, Rayudika Aprilia Patindra Purba, Ph.D. Suranaree University of Technology, Thailand, and Awang Tri Satria, S.Pt., ME. National Pingtung University of Science and Technology, Taiwan.

“Through this activity, it is hoped that it will become an important focal point for scientists, researchers, experts and also produce innovative solutions that will not only strengthen collaboration between academics, government, industry professionals and society to achieve the 2045 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).” (AEO)
