Lecturer at the Faculty of Animal Science, Universitas Brawijaya (Fapet UB) who is a member of the Banksel Gamet research study group carrying out research on people’s livestock in Probolinggo Regency. The activity was chaired by Adelina Ari Hemiyanti, MP, consisting of Dr. Agus Budiarto, Prof. Gatot Ciptadi, Puji Akhiroh, MS, Ardyah Ramadhina Irsanti Putri, M.Si, and Yuli Frita Nuningtyas, M.Sc. As well as involving students consisting of Ardiani Febriana Fatmawati, Zulfikar Ahmad Al Idrus, M. Dzamirul Haqqi, Husna Handayani Puspita Sari, and Salsa Oktha Melani.

They performed artificial insemination (AI) on 50 local ewe using frozen semen of the Priangan sheep (Domba Garut) and fat tail sheep (DEG). According to Prof. Gatot Ciptadi, the aim of AI is to improve genetic quality so that it can improve the quality of production and reproduction in local sheep. This is because the local lamb meat commodity has not been able to meet market demand. 

Then after doing AI, they tested the success of the implementation to find out the effect between body weight and vital statistics. Includes height, chest circumference, and body length on pregnancy success. 

The results showed that body weight and vital statistics had an effect on pregnancy success (P>0.05). In addition, the success rate of AI is also seen based on the success evaluation of the NRR (Non Return Rate), CR (Conception Rate) and PR (Preganancy Rate) assessments. Besides that, the success rate of AI is also seen based on the success evaluation of the assessment of the NRR (Non Return Rate), CR (Conception Rate) and PR (Preganancy Rate). (dta)
