Promoting Sumber Sekar Inn, Dean Holds Alumni Meeting class of ’81

The field laboratory of the Faculty of Animal Science, Universitas Brawijaya (Fapet UB) located in  Sumbersekar Village, Kecamatan Dau – Malang Regency is one of the supporting facilities for lecturers’ practicum activities and students. There are cattle, goats, sheep, broiler chickens,  laying hens closed house, forage plant glass house, and livestock reproduction laboratory.

Besides that, there is a two-story office equipped with a  receptionist,  a  spacious laboratory headroom,  a living room,  a meeting room,  a milk processing room, a prayer room,  an inn room, and a toilet.  The lodging rooms on the second floor are eight in number, with details of four double bedrooms and four bunk bed rooms.  The inn is usually used for student exchange students, visiting guests, to practicum students.

But since the pandemic,  this inn has been quiet from visitors.  As a step to revive the inn there, Prof. Suyadi as the Dean of Fapet UB got around by promoting it to his class of college friends. So that the reunion of the class of 1981 was held at the Sumber Sekar field laboratory, Saturday-Sunday (23-24/7/2022).

“Alhamdulillah, now our beloved Faculty has made tremendous progress, both in terms of building construction and curriculum,” said Suyadi when giving a speech

“The lodging that friends stopped by tonight is one of the facilities owned by Fapet UB. I hope that those who have a partner from a younger brother or senior can inform about this lodging to their respective classmates. Because  this facility is also ours  as part of the big family of  Fapet UB.”  he continued

The reunion with the theme “Lumpuk Henam di Ngalam” was attended by about 30 people spread from various regions. Most of them stayed at the  Sumber Sekar inn as well as reminisced about when they were students.

One of the participants, Prof. Trinil Susilawati who is also a professor at Fapet UB, said that this reunion event was to strengthen friendships, meet misses, and have fun letting go of tired.

“One of the secrets of longevity is to have fun by releasing stress for a moment. I hope that friends can enjoy tonight’s event carefreely,”  he said (dta)
