The Faculty of Animal Science Universitas Brawijaya (Fapet UB) held a New Student Development Program (Probin Maba) and Reality-Based Character Development (PKBR), Saturday (4/09/2021). The event is a series of activities for Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) in 2021.
The aim is to foster students in participating in academic activities, socializing the ethics of campus life, as well as building self-character and religion-based cooperation.
Students are future leaders, so it is important to build a character from an early age. Because the progress of the country depends on the character of the people and their leaders who can realize justice, peace, and peace.
The Dean of UB Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Prof. Suyadi in his speech while opening the event said that no matter how smart a person is, if his character is damaged it will be meaningless. Therefore, it is important to instill character education both based on religion and national insight for students.
“The coaching program for students at Fapet UB is divided into three categories, namely practical skills, knowledge/scientific skills, and character skills,” explained Suyadi
“Through these efforts, we hope that Fapet UB graduates will not only achieve academically but have a character that upholds religion and the nation.” he continued
The presenter of the online event was Feri Dwi Sampurno, Director of a leadership training institute in Surabaya named Inalead. He conveyed the importance of a good attitude (morals) in the world of work, especially its application in everyday life.
As well as motivating all participants to continue to improve themselves and improve their inner character so that they can become better individuals, by increasing gratitude, forgiveness, sharing, and optimism.
“Adiadik should be grateful for all the gifts given by God Almighty, such as health and the opportunity to study at Fapet UB. So if you increase your gratitude, you will spread positive energy that makes you more enthusiastic and responsible in living life,” said Feri (dta)
