Lecturers at the Faculty of Animal Science, Universitas Brawijaya (Fapet UB) introduce livestock products to young children. This activity, which was packaged through community service, was carried out at the Anggrek Early Childhood Education (PAUD) Post, Malang City, November 28 2023. This team was chaired by Dr. Sri Minarti, consisting of Prof. Tri Eko Susilorini, Prof. M. Junus, Ir. NurCholis, Msi and Poppy Satya Puspita, M.Sc.
The introduction of livestock products in early childhood aims to provide appropriate stimulation for optimal physical, mental, emotional and social development. Apart from that, it can prepare children to face challenges, improve their quality of life, thinking abilities and skills. So, as an effort to improve children’s skills, this can be done by introducing food as a source of energy and nutrition that comes from animal products. Such as from livestock meat, eggs, milk and honey.
Through a fun learning approach in introducing livestock products through interesting cartoon videos and games. So that children do not get bored and become creative, responsive, brave and deft in receiving the material presented. Apart from that, the service team also directly demonstrated livestock products in fresh and processed form, distributed products to students in the form of honey, boiled eggs, UHT milk, fried chicken and sausages, gave fresh honey to teachers as a daily supplement when teaching, as well as a honey drinking campaign. together.
