The development of increasingly sophisticated technology presents a breakthrough in Open Artificial Intelligence based on machine learning, namely the Generative Pre-training Transformer (GPT) chat. Founded in 2015, this chatbot is used to help generate content ideas, essays, and even solve math questions.
Lecturer of the Faculty of Computer Science, Universitas Brawijaya (Filkom UB), Prof.Ir. Wayan Firdaus Mahmudy, S.Si., M.T., Ph.D said that the answers that appeared on the gpt chat were the result of human input. So to provide credible and accurate information it is recommended to be carried out by experts in their field.
He conveyed this when he was a resource person at the GPT chat training to UB Faculty of Animal Science Lecturers, Tuesday (8/8/2023). The activity was carried out offline in the senate meeting room lt.6 Gd.V and was attended by all Faculty of Animal Husbandry Lecturers.
Wayan also explained the advantages of GPT chat, including speed in providing answers, responsiveness, and the language used was easy to understand. However, it has a lack of validity for answers that cannot be used as a full basis, limited information until 2021 only, and the answers needed are too general.
On that occasion Prof. M. Halim Natsir, as the Dean of Faculty of Animal Science UB and the host said that even though the GPT chat was very helpful in obtaining information. However, it should only be used as a suggestion, not as a reference in the literature. (dta)
