Evaluation of extension and community development programs is a very important stage. Because it can provide an assessment of the success of the program to find out deficiencies as well as improve implementation performance in the future.
However, this stage is often abandoned by development program actors. Therefore, the Lecturer of the Faculty of Animal Science Universitas Brawijaya (Fapet UB), Dr. Siti Azizah held training on the performance evaluation of agricultural instructors and the application of the evaluation model Bennett’s hierarchy. The online activity on Saturday (26/6/2021) is intended for extension workers, academics, and community development actors.
The goal is to provide knowledge of the urgency of evaluation activities in extension and development programs. It also provides skills in usingmodel Bennett’s hierarchy in program evaluation applications.
The speakers of this activity were Warsana, SP, M. Si. (Chairman of the Indonesian Agricultural Extension Association (PERHIPTANI) Central Java 2017 – 2022) who delivered material on evaluating the performance of agricultural instructors. And Dr. Azizah from an academic who provided training on the application of themodel Bennett’s hierarchy for evaluation of extension programs.
According to Azizah, Bennet’s hierarchy is a complete evaluation model using a multidisciplinary approach. However, the multidisciplinary approach does not make this model difficult to use, in fact it tends to be very flexible depending on the situation, conditions, and abilities of the instructor.
“Through this training, it is hoped that all community development program actors can more easily carry out evaluation activities with modifications according to their respective conditions.” explained Azizah
“The success of the evaluation program will have a positive impact on program actors and targets in addition to being a form of accountability to the program funders.”she continued (dta)
