Implementation of Witness Test for Inseminator Certification Scheme (FAPET UB)

Malang, February 23, 2024 – The Faculty of Animal Science at Brawijaya University (Fapet UB) has achieved a remarkable milestone by successfully undergoing witness testing by the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP) on Friday and Saturday (February 23 and 24, 2024). The witness testing process aimed to obtain official licenses from BNSP for two new schemes under Fapet UB, one of which is the occupational certification scheme for Inseminators.

In the context of the inseminator certification test, Fapet UB collaborated with the Brawijaya University Professional Certification Institute (LSP UB), which appointed Dr. Aulia as the head of the Inseminator Competency Testing Center (TUK). Additionally, Prof. Nurul Isnaini and Prof. Sri Wahjuningsih also participated as assessors in the process, accompanied by other TUK team members. The participants of the certification test comprised 10 undergraduate students who had interned in the field of large ruminants and had experience in artificial insemination (AI) but did not yet possess competency certificates.

Prof. Nurul Isnaini, as an assessor, stated, “With the inseminator competency certification test, it is hoped that students who are competent will have professionally recognized certificates in the job market. This certification test aims to ensure and maintain the competence of inseminators so that they are able to carry out their tasks with professionalism.”

On the first day of the Witness Test implementation, participants underwent a written examination according to the predetermined stages. On the second day, participants underwent practical testing of artificial insemination in a real workplace environment by performing AI on estrus cows owned by farmers in the Singosari area, Malang. All participants successfully completed the test smoothly and were declared competent by the assessors.

The success of Fapet UB in obtaining this certification is tangible evidence of their commitment to improving the quality of education and preparing students to compete in the job market. Hopefully, this success will serve as inspiration for other educational institutions to continue their efforts in improving the quality of education and preparing graduates to meet the demands of the job market.
