Ordik Maba to Know Educational Orientation on Campus

Ahead of the odd semester of lectures, the Postgraduate Program at the Faculty of Animal Science Universitas Brawijaya (PPS Fapet UB) held an educational and student orientation for new students (ordik maba), Friday (27/08/2021).

The activity was conducted virtually with the theme “Building Quality Human Resources to Face the Challenges of Livestock Industry Development in the VUCA Era.” The participants were 90 students, 39 regular master program students, 30master program students fast track, and 29 doctoral program students.

Head of the Master’s Study Program, Dr. Tri Eko Susilorini, who was appointed as the chief executive of the event, said that the purpose of organizing the new Ordik Maba is to recognize the orientation of education on campus. And as a sign of the start of the odd semester lectures for the 2021/2022 academic year.

Meanwhile, Prof. Suyadi, as the Dean in his speech, indicated that PPS students are the spearhead of the development of science and technology. So that it is expected to be able to change the mindset by understanding research progress, future research, and research dynamics to face future challenges in the global era, industrial era, and the VUCA era (volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity). A in orderto be able to predict the future of the livestock sector through research and publications.

The schedule for ordik activities was presented with material on scientific writing strategies for publication by Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) lecturer Prof. Anjas Asmara bin Samsudin. Then the academic material by the Vice Dean I of the Faculty of Animal Science and closed with an explanation of the learning process for the master program and doctoral program, which was carried out separately through a break-out room at ZOOM.
