The Faculty of Animal Science Universitas Brawijaya (Fapet UB) cooperates with the Animal Husbandry Office of East Java in education, training, research, development, and assistance for livestock development programs in East Java province. The agreement was stated in a cooperation agreement signed by Prof. Suyadi (Dean) and Indyah Aryani, MM (Head of Service), Monday (14/2/2022) at the Grand Mercure Hotel, Malang.
The scope of the cooperation, which will be implemented within five years, includes (1) education, including public lectures, seminars, internships, field practice, and actual work lectures. (2) Improvement and development of human resource competencies, such as conducting training, technical guidance, and community service. (3) facilitating the Independent Learning Campus (MBKM) program; (4) mentoring the People’s Animal Husbandry School (SPR) activity program; (5) assistance for local resource-based feed independence programs; (6) mentoring programs for seed development, cultivation, socio-economics, processing of livestock products, marketing of livestock products, management of the livestock environment; (7) research and development of livestock technology; (8) make analysis of livestock policies (breeding, feed, cultivation, social economy, processing of livestock products, marketing of livestock products, management of the livestock environment); (9) assessment by conducting feasibility studies and application of appropriate technological innovations.
The cooperation plan will be followed up by forming a team to plan programs and activities jointly between the two parties. Then the implementation and control closed with monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.
Prof. Suyadi said the purpose of the agreement was to synergize the parties’ resources in implementing what had been agreed as an effort to formulate policies for the livestock community in East Java Province. So that it can realize the welfare of farmers. (dta)
