Introduce Livestock Products Early on Through Fun Learning

Lecturer of the Faculty of Animal Science, Universitas Brawijaya (Fapet UB) introduces livestock products to early childhood. This activity which was wrapped up through community service was carried out at the Integrated Islamic Early Childhood Education (PAUD – IT) Insan Permata Malang City, 26 May – 13 June 2023. The team was chaired by Dr. Sri Minarti, consisting of Prof. Tri Eko Susilorini, Prof. M. Junus, Hanief Eko S., M.P., and Poppy Satya Puspita, M.Si.

Sri Minarti said that education for children from an early age at the age of 0-6 years aims to provide the right stimulation for optimal physical, mental, emotional and social development. Besides that, it can prepare children to face challenges, improve quality of life, thinking skills, and skills.

So an effort to improve children’s skills can be done by introducing food as a source of energy and nutrition derived from animal products. Such as from livestock meat, eggs, milk, and honey.

They use a fun learning approach in introducing products farm through interesting cartoon picture videos and games. So that the children are not saturated and be creative, responsive, courageous, and adept in receiving the material presented.

In addition, the service team also directly demonstrated livestock products in fresh and processed form, distributed products to students in the form of honey, boiled eggs, UHT milk, fried chicken and sausages.grant fresh honey for teachers as a daily supplement when teaching, and campaign to drink honey together.

“The benefits of this activity are as an introduction to livestock products, as well as an impact on increasing livestock products consumed by the public. Thus increasing people’s purchasing power and demand for product farms,”said Minar (Dr. Sri Minarti’s nickname) (dta)
