Lecturer of the Faculty of Animal Science Universitas Brawijaya (Fapet UB), Prof. Trinil Susilawati and Aulia Puspita Anugra Yekti, M.Sc gave training for refreshing inseminators, Saturday (11/09/2021). The activity was attended by 16 participants consisting of inseminators and animal health workers in the SAE Pujon area.
Trinil delivered material on reproductive management to achieve reproductive efficiency. Meanwhile, Aulia explained the evaluation of the success of injection mating or artificial insemination (IB).
According to Trinil, this activity is like a tit for tat because the inseminator expects discussions with experts in livestock reproduction from academia. Meanwhile, the lecturer team needs to transfer knowledge to livestock groups through community service activities.
Refreshing inseminator training is carried out periodically with different speakers every week. It is hoped that after attending the training, both inseminators and animal health workers will be able to test semen quality, assess the percentage of motility (mortality rate) and semen concentration by the Indonesian National Standard.
The activity is a series of field schools organized in collaboration with Fapet UB, SAE Pujon Cooperative, PT. Nestle, Head of Fapet (Alumni Family of Fapet UB), and Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). The field school class is divided into two groups: the millennials school breeder class and the refreshing inseminator class.
The targeted learning achievement is to increase the knowledge of livestock groups in the SAE Pujon Cooperative from upstream to downstream by implementing good dairy farming practices. So that it can improve the quality and quantity of cow’s milk. (dta)
