Collaborative Class on Livestock Industry System Brings In Commissioner of PT. Kembang Joyo Sriwijaya

The collaborative class learning method between lecturers and practitioners is again carried out at the Faculty of Animal Science, Universitas Brawijaya (Fapet UB). The course implemented is the Livestock Industry System for students of the class of 2020 or semester five. The implementation of collaborative classes in this Constitutional Court will be carried out for one semester, so there will be seven meetings.

Located in the Auditorium room on the 8th floor, this third meeting discussed the beekeeping industry system, Friday (7/10/2022). Invited the commissioner of PT. Kembang Joyo Sriwijaya, Dr. Dewi Masyithoh, S.Pt., M.Pt., as a resource person.

Dewi recounted her first experience of raising bees in 1998. Then thanks to her persistence to explore knowledge to produce good honey products, she and her husband continued their studies until the doctoral level at Fapet UB. Finally PT. Kembang Joyo Sriwijaya was founded in 2004 and is growing rapidly until now.

“I advise you younger siblings, later you guys after graduation will hold a Bachelor of Animal Husbandry degree. Even though we have become scholars, don’t be ashamed and have the prestige to raise livestock, the knowledge we get while studying is applied. If you feel a lack of knowledge, don’t hesitate to ask the expert, read the literature, if there is an opportunity to continue studying,” said Dewi

Meanwhile, Dr. Eko Widodo a lecturer who teaches the MK Animal Husbandry Industry System in his speech said that this collaborative class learning method is one of the implementations of the independent campus competition program (PKKM). The goal is to provide students with insight into aspects and mechanization of supporting technologies in companies. It will produce graduates who are ready to face industrialization and entrepreneurship.  (dta)
