On November 22, 2023, the Faculty Members’ Creative Activities team (DOKAR), led by Dr. Irida Novianti and consisting of Prof. V.M. Ani Nurgiartiningsih, Prof. Lilik Eka Radiati, Prof. Tri Eko Susilorini, and Dr. Agus Susilo, visited the School of Animal and Veterinary Sciences, Roseworthy campus, The University of Adelaide. The visit of the FAPET UB team was welcomed by Prof. Rob Woodgate, Head of School of Animal and Veterinary Sciences, and Prof. Wayne Pitchford, Director of Davies Livestock Research Centre, which currently oversees 60 research projects involving faculty members at the School of Animal and Veterinary Sciences, The University of Adelaide.

The main objective of this visit was to initiate research collaboration opportunities between the School of Animal and Veterinary Sciences, The University of Adelaide, and the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Universitas Brawijaya. The University of Adelaide is currently ranked 72nd in the world (QS rank) in the field of agriculture. Moreover, the possibilities of collaboration in the form of staff exchange, student exchange, joint supervision, joint publication, internships, and Adjunct Professor positions were also discussed during this visit. All forms of collaboration will be formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Universitas Brawijaya and The University of Adelaide.

During this visit, the FAPET UB team also had the opportunity to attend a group meeting discussing several research outcomes, including research on Nutrition and Methane Abatement and Biological Fleece Weakening. Visits to several laboratory facilities for student practicals and a visit to the Animal Hospital were also conducted. (tim)
