Malang, April 25, 2024 – In an effort to enhance social awareness and public health, the Student Executive Body of the Faculty of Animal Science (BEM Fapet) at Universitas Brawijaya (UB), in collaboration with the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) of Malang City, organized a successful blood donation event. The event, held at Building 2 of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry at Universitas Brawijaya, gathered over 50 bags of blood donated by faculty and students.
This activity is part of the efforts by the Ministry of Environmental Social Affairs of BEM Fapet UB to foster a sense of care and solidarity among university members and the general public. “We are deeply moved and proud of the high enthusiasm of the participants. This shows that the spirit of helping others is very strong among our academic community,” stated the event coordinator.
The blood donation is expected not only to help meet the blood stock needs at PMI Malang but also to raise awareness about the importance of blood donation as a humanitarian act. “Every drop of blood donated is invaluable. This is one way for us as part of the academic community to make a real contribution,” added one of the faculty members participating in the blood drive.
The event also received positive feedback from PMI Malang, which appreciated the initiative and good cooperation from Universitas Brawijaya. “We are grateful to UB and all the participants who have supported this event. We hope that similar activities can continue and that more people will be motivated to donate blood,” said a representative from PMI Malang.
With the success of this event, BEM Fapet UB plans to organize similar events in the future, hoping to attract more participants and continue contributing to public health. (MT)
