Innovation Animal Science Competition (IASC) season 2

The Student Scientific Group (KIM) of Faculty of Animal Husbandry will hold the second Innovation Animal Science Competition (IASC). This scientific writing competition national level is the work program of KIM where the participant are the students from all of area in Indonesia. The theme in this activity is about “Autonomy of Indonesian Livestock to Increase Competitiveness of Local Product to Facing ASEAN Economic Community 2015”, with several sub themes such as renewable technology innovation in the field of livestock (technology), optimization of local food in livestock (food), and marketing strategies in improving livestock products (marketing).
The objective of this event is to improve students’ ability in conduct research activity and contributes creative thinking and innovative in solving global problems through scientific writing competition. In addition, it also to improve the competitiveness of local products, especially in livestock in order to face the ASEAN Economic Community(MEA).
The event series includes scientific writing competition, national seminar, livestock products, and city tour. The event will be held on May 22^th to 24^th, 2015 which has two stages of selection. The firststep is abstract selection (3/24), followed by the second step for papers selection (3/22). The reviewers (jury) in the writing competition are professors in the Faculty of Animal Husbandry who are experts in their competences.
According to RidwanHermawan, as the chairman of the event, through this such eventsthe Faculty of Animal Husbandry,Brawijaya University, can be a pioneer in developing the potential livestock products as well as contributes to increase food security in Indonesia.
