Dr. Irfan said that currently the goat and sheep farming business is growing rapidly, promising profits if managed properly. One of the determining factors for the success of the business is the skills of farmers in providing feed independently and continuously. Because the cost of feed absorbs nearly 80% in the livestock business.
“Self-sufficiency of feed is defined as the ability of the region to meet the needs of feed made from local ingredients. At the same time utilizing various sources such as human, social, economic, technological, and local wisdom resources.” explained Irfan
The training materials provided included livestock reproduction and pregnancy detection in goats – sheep, aspects of disease, aspects of livestock wastewater treatment, as well as providing motivation to students/students to cultivate entrepreneurs. Participants were not only santri and female students but involved 15 goat – sheep breeders.
“Through this activity it is hoped that it will be able to empower the farming community, students/santriwati, both at the individual and institutional level, as well as create a strengthening of the networking of stakeholders in the Buring Village, especially in the livestock business and the development of the sheep business in the Buring Village, Kedungkandang District, Malang City.” said Irfan
Meanwhile explained by Anie Eka, M.Sc., the choice of the Tholabie Islamic Boarding School Manager as the object of assistance is because they are currently trying to organize a spiritual curriculum-oriented education.
