Lecturers and students of Universitas Brawijaya (UB) collaborate to run a mental revolution movement program which is divided into several teams. Where team I taught about milk and its processed products to students at SDN 1 Gadingkulon, Dau District – Malang Regency.

The lecturer team consisted of Ria Dewi Andriani, M.Sc (Faculty of Animal Science), Endra Yuafanedi Arifianto, MT. (Faculty of Engineering), Pusvita Yuana, M.Sc (Faculty of Economics and Business), and Triya Indra Rahmawan. MH (Faculty of Law). Meanwhile, student members include Dimas Wiryawan (Faculty of Animal Science), Irqi Sheva Maulana (Faculty of Law), Muhammad Putra Nurdiansyah (Faculty of Engineering), and Rizki Dwi Setiawan (Faculty of Economics and Business).

According to Dimas, a student team from Fapet, milk is a nutritious source of animal protein because it has a complete content. These include proteins, fats, carbohydrates, minerals, and vitamins. These components can help the process of growth and development in infants and children.

Meanwhile, the biological benefits of milk include being a source of energy, helping the absorption of calcium and phosphorus to build body bones and teeth, which are contained in lactose. Inhibitors of the development of cancer cells derived from fatty acid sources containing Conjungated Linoleic Acid (CLA). Maintains enzymes, hormones and antibodies carried out by amino acids. As well as producing energy and fat-soluble vitamins (vitamins A, D, E, K) which are in milk fat.

However, the interest of the Indonesian people to consume fresh milk is still low. Therefore, there are innovations in dairy processing products, such as yogurt, kefir, cheese, ice cream, butter, candy, ice mambo, sticks, and so on. The existence of these processed products is able to increase the people’s consumption power for milk.

“We hope that this activity will bring about changes in the thinking and behavior of children to be diligent in consuming milk and its processed products. In order to get the myriad of benefits that are in it.” explained Dimas

“Besides that, consuming milk can create national milk security as well as improve the welfare and economy of dairy farmers.” he concluded (dta)
