Lecturer at the Faculty of Animal Science, Brawijaya University (Fapet UB), Dr. Irida Novianti, S.Pt., M.Agr.Sc. be a resource person for the eventForum Group Discussion (FGD) Workshop on Artificial Insemination Management for IsDB Member Countries, Thursday (14/9/2023). Located in the senate meeting room on the 6th floor of building V, Irida discussed Genomic Technology on Livestock Genetic Improvement. Such as the development of genomic technology in the livestock sector, as well as strategies for using genomic technology to increase livestock productivity.

FGD participants are members of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) from Nigeria, Palestine, Bahrain, Qatar, Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam. This activity is a form of collaboration between the Singosari Center for Artificial Insemination (BBIB) of the Ministry of Agriculture and IsBD to increase the capacity in the field of artificial insemination in livestock for IsBD member countries.

Head of BBIB Singosari, Drh Akbar, said that to provide comprehensive knowledge regarding the use of genomic technology in increasing livestock productivity, a visit to the Faculty of Animal Husbandry UB is needed and holding discussions with experts. It is hoped that after participating in the FGD, participants will get an idea regarding the use of genomic technology in increasing livestock productivity. (dta)
