Fapet UB Receives “Top Institution for Graduate Employability” Award from PT. Medion

Faculty of Animal ScienceUniversitas Brawijaya (Fapet UB) received an award from PT. Medion, the category of institution with the highest number of graduates working at Medion. The award, named Top Institution for Graduate Employability, was given in celebration of Medion’s 45th birthday, Thursday (22/7/2021).

Besides Fapet UB, awards in this category were also given to Padjadjaran University (Unpad), Sebelas Maret University (UNS), Jenderal Sudirman University (Unsoed), and Diponegoro University (Undip).

The handover ceremony was held online and discussed the link and match between campus and industry involving PT. Medion in the Merdeka Learning Campus Merdeka (MBKM) program.

Representatives of PT. Medion, Derys said that there had been student internships with a duration of two to three months. However, to meet the MBKM criteria, besides training, guest lectures can be held in experiential learning programs by inviting industry parties as resource persons.

In line with that statement, Deputy Dean I, Prof. M. Halim Natsir, explained that Fapet UB had adjusted the curriculum, adding the Animal Husbandry Engineering Court, which involves practitioners from industry. And has conceptualized case-method and project-based learning so that students can learn from around their homes.

“The goal of MBKM is to shorten the waiting time for graduates so that during internships, it is hoped that the company will have started the selection of prospective employees,” said Halim (dta)
