Fapet UB is Ready to Hold Hybrid Lectures Lecture

activities for the even semester of FY. 2021/2022 after the Mid-Semester Examination at Universitas Brawijaya (UB) will be held in a hybrid manner, namely a combination of online and offline. This stipulation is based on the Chancellor’s Circular Number 411/UN10.F05/DI.04/2022.

Lectures will start Monday (4/4/2022) with a capacity of 50%. The mechanism is that odd NIM students enter in odd semesters while even NIM students enter in even semesters. The requirement is that you have received at least one vaccine, then check your temperature and scan the QR pedulilindungi  before entering campus.

Responding to this condition, UB’s Faculty of Animal Science (Fapet) has prepared hybrid class supporting equipment. Among them are 18 hybrid classes and four smart classes equipped with smart cameras. While the smart class is equipped with a PC, smart LCD projector, smart TV, and audio.

Trials of equipment for lecturers, class services, and academic teams were carried out last February. Then to refresh and stabilize, further trials were carried out with lecturer representatives, student representatives, KTU, equipment division, as well as academic and class services, Friday (1/4/2022) guided by the PSIK team.

The head of PSIK, Poespitasari Hazanah Ndaru, S.Pt.,MP said that the transition from online to hybrid method is one of the efforts to revive the campus atmosphere which has been asleep since 2020. Of course, following the health protocols, at Fapet UB there is also a handwashing area. at the entrance of every building, temperature gauges, and scan barcodes pedulilindungi.

On the learning side, according to him, the hybrid method is a bit complicated because it combines offline and online via zoom. However, with the support of smart equipment, the implementation is easy, it just needs continuous adaptation. (dta)
