Faculty of Animal Science UB and PT. Fenanza Putra Perkasa Implements Tri Dharma in Higher Education

Faculty of Animal Science, Universitas Brawijaya (Fapet UB) establishes a collaboration with PT. Fernanza the Mighty Son. The signing of the collaboration document was carried out by Prof. M. Halim Natsir (Dean) and Dr.drh. Isra H.M. Noor, M.M. (President Director), Monday (15/5/2023). The scope of this agreement includes developing research collaborations, holding joint seminars and guest lecturer activities, student internships, and implementing the Independent Learning Campus Program (MBKM).

Prof. Halim said that through the implementation of this collaboration, it is hoped that it will be able to increase the synergy of the potential resources owned by both parties, in order to realize the vision and mission of each. Besides that, mutual contribution between educational institutions and industry in an effort to advance Indonesian livestock.

After the event, Dr. Isra had the opportunity to be a speaker in a guest lecture for undergraduate and postgraduate students which was conducted in a hybrid manner in the Auditorium on the 8th floor. She conveyed the role of the company industry nutrition of local farms in enhancing the nation’s image. This is in line with Indonesia’s low entrepreneurship ratio coupled with the increasing export of livestock products. According to him, it is necessary to instill strong foundations and courage to start an entrepreneur, especially in the livestock sector.

The next session is an introduction to the premix industry delivered by the Plant Operations Manager, Agung Susilo Wahyudi, S.Pt. He said that premix is ​​divided into two, namely basic premix and functional premix. However, in the future, custom premix will become the prima donna among breeders because it is a very durable material requested specifically based on the problems that exist in the laying hen coop.

The guest lecture was guided by Danung Nur Adli, M.Sc., according to him, lectures with practitioners were important for students to follow developments in science and technology. Because when you only get theory in lectures, students only know about small opportunities, and underestimate sales jobs. Whereas to build a career as an entrepreneur requires formation of leadership spirit, network expansion, and updates on field conditions. (dta)
