An outbreak of foot and mouth disease (FMD) that attacked ruminant hoofed cattle in Malang Regency was first reported by a farmer in Kasembon. Wonoagung Village, Kasembon District is one of the milk production centers in Malang Regency with a population of 5,689 dairy cows and produces 55,000 liters of milk per day. Currently the livestock group in Wonoagung Village found several dairy cows belonging to the farmers experiencing FMD symptoms and some even dying.

According to a lecturer at the Faculty of Animal Science, Universitas Brawijaya (Fapet UB), Rini Dwi Wahyuni, M.Sc., the losses caused by the virus hit the farmers economically and socially. Because it causes a decrease in productivity to death. In order to overcome this problem, it is necessary to provide an explanation for FMD prevention by livestock academics.

Rini cooperates with UB Faculty of Animal Science lecturers like Prof. Suyadi, Dr. Kuswati, Dr. Mashudi, and Muhammad Pramujo, M.Sc. to do community service in the form of education on feed management during FMD outbreaks. As well as involving undergraduate students (S1) consisting of Muhammad Zidane F., Maulidha Putri Rahmi F., Farah Akhsanatuzahra, and Fais Amanullah Yung.

They socialize the management of dairy cattle, dairy cattle feed technology, reproductive efficiency and recording of dairy cattle, disease prevention, and dairy products. The aim is to realize innovation and develop the creativity of academics, while at the same time increasing the role and function of breeder groups so that they are efficient in efforts to overcome and prevent FMD in Wonoagung Village, Kasembon District, Malang Regency.
