BEM Public Discussion: Discuss Poultry and People’s Livestock Conglomerates

The Student Executive Board of the Faculty of Animal Science, Universitas Brawijaya (Fapet UB) through the Ministry of Strategic Studies and Action (Kastrat), held a public discussion, Sunday (9/4/2023). Namely forums that discuss certain topics openly by bringing in resource persons who are experts in their fields.

The theme raised at this meeting was “Holding the Facts of a Conglomerate in Power, What Can People’s Breeders do?”. The invited speakers areIrish Only Zulaichah, MP (Kabid PPHP for Public Health Service in Malang Regency) and Kholiq H. (Head of Pinsar East Java). Whereas Discussion participants come from various backgrounds, so they can provide views and responses to the topics discussed.

Nur Zulaichah said that the presence of poultry conglomerates in Indonesia could provide benefits as well as challenges for smallholder breeders. Therefore there is a need for collaboration and joint solutions between poultry conglomerates and smallholder breeders. However With support from the government, the wider community, as well as the role of students to promote better understanding and generate new ideas. (dta)
