CEO of Yambe Dairy Co., Ltd. Japan Gives Lectures at Faculty of Animal Science UB

The Faculty of Animal Science, Universitas Brawijaya (Fapet UB) invited the CEO of Yambe Dairy Co., Ltd., Takashi Yambe, to be a guest lecturer, Wednesday (13/9/2023). He shared general information about dairy farming management in Japan.

According to him, Japan implemented automatic systems for feeding, herding to the milking parlor, and even cleaning the pen. Apart from that, Japan has strict regulations regarding waste management so it uses technology to recycle waste. For example, processing cow dung waste into organic fertilizer or biogas fuel.

Before giving the lecture, Takashi signed a cooperation agreement regarding the internship program for FAS UB students which will be implemented in 2024-2025. This year the Faculty of Animal Science has sent five undergraduate students (S1) to do internships in the independent campus learning program (MBKM).

“Internships abroad can increase students’ experience, knowledge and insight, especially in studying the Japanese management system. “The hope is that students can become human resources who can help improve the skills and technology of the dairy industry in Indonesia.” said Prof. M. Halim as Dean (dta)
