Technical Guidance for Certification and Distribution Permit for Organic Fertilizer Products from Goat Manure

Technical Guidance for Certification and Distribution Permit for Organic Fertilizer Products from Goat Manure

Wednesday, 19 July 2023
Oleh : Admin Fapet

If organic fertilizer products are produced by individual or group breeders to be commercialized, they need to comply with the Minimum Technical Requirements for solid organic fertilizer issued by the Ministry of Agriculture. This is intended to guarantee the quality and standards of fertilizers distributed. If you do not have a distribution permit and are not certified, then trading is considered an illegal activity and can be faced with law enforcement officials.

One example is the Karya Mulya Farmers Group in Bangelan Village, Wonosari District, Malang Regency, which produces organic fertilizer made from goat manure. However, they do not yet have a Quality and Effectiveness Test Certificate issued by an official institution appointed by the Ministry of Agriculture, as well as a distribution permit issued by a Regional Head at the level of the local Regent or Mayor under the coordination of the Governor.

This causes limitations in marketing organic fertilizer products produced by farmer groups. Even though breeders are actively working to process livestock waste to become an additional source of income while reducing environmental pollution problems.

In response to this, the Lecturer of the Faculty of Animal Science, Universitas Brawijaya (Fapet UB) took the initiative to provide technical guidance (bimtek) for the preparation of product certification and distribution permits, Saturday (15/7/2023). The team consists of Nur Cholis, M.Sc. (chairman), Dr. Ita Wahju Nursita (member), and Eka Nur Wahyuni, M.P. (member). As well as involving undergraduate program students, including Randy Nada Rizki (2020), Poppy Oktaviany Hanu (2019), Farida Oktafiyanofita Putri (2020), and Nanda Bilqis Puspita (2020).

Bimtek materials include technical submission of fertilizer certificates to the Ministry of Agriculture online. As well as the preparation of the necessary equipment in the management of product distribution permits. So that farmer groups get additional insight into the market potential of organic fertilizer products nationally and internationally. At the same time understanding the importance of product legality and technical requirements.

The head of the Karya Mulya Farmers Group and the Village Head expressed their hope to the extension team that there would be continued guidance in the implementation of the certification process and distribution permits for organic fertilizer products. So that in the future farmers can market their products easily. (dta
