Overcoming Problems with Breeders, UB Faculty of Animal Science Lecturers Collaborate with the Department of Agriculture, Food Security, and Fisheries of Ponorogo Regency

Lecturers of the Faculty of Animal Science Universitas Brawijaya (UB Faculty of Animal Husbandry) held a meeting with the leaders of the Department of Agriculture, Food Security, and Fisheries of Ponorogo Regency, Wednesday (23/3/2022 ). The lecturers involved included Asri Nurul Huda, M.Sc (chair), consisting of Prof. Trinil Susilawati, Dr. Kuswati, Aulia Puspita AY, M.Sc, and Rizki Prafitri, Ph.D.

The meeting discussed solutions to problems faced by dairy farmers in Ponorogo Regency. It was namely soaring production costs due to an increase in livestock population.

According to Asri, the lecturer team’s first step is to provide training and assistance in making feed independently, reproductive management, and group strengthening. Meanwhile, the Ponorogo Regency Government supports the planned activity by providing a grant for feed production equipment.

“Later on, our team will involve Fapet UB alumni in Ponorogo Regency. Besides that, students who are still active can do research, internships, or Community Service Program here as well.” clear Asri
