Dosen Fapet UB Dampingi Pembibitan Sapi Potong di Kabupaten Tuban

Faculty of Animal Husbandry of University of Brawijaya as an animal husbandry institution implements science and knowledge into farmers through SPR (Sentra Peternakan Rakyat/Communities Farming Centre). SPR is a community based farming business to improve cattle population and farmers’ welfare conducted in certain areas. Several weeks ago, Faculty of Animal Husbandry delegated five lecturers of Cattle Production Division to have accompaniment in order to improve cattle productivity in Tuban Regency, 29-30/Sep/2016. The event was in order to fulfill a partnership between Fapet UB and Bank Indonesia Surabaya on beef cattle cluster strengthening in Tuban.

The team consists of Prof. Dr. Ir. Trinil Susilawati, MS (Head), Dr. Ir. Nuryadi, MS; Dr. Ir. Nurul Isnaini, MS; Aulia Puspita Anugra Yekti, S.Pt., M.Sc and Wike Andre, S.Pt, MS. The event that organized for two days also attended by Bank Indonesia delegates and Animal Husbandry Agency of Tuban, and followed by 40 SPR members farmers form both villages.

The event agenda were including nursery mentoring for SPR area of Sub-district Palang, Tuban Regency, training on reproduction management and PO cattle nursery in Leran Kulon and Leran Wetan Villages. In addition, there was also data collection on farming potency in the area. Meanwhile, training was filled in with presentation, discussion, and practicum on sperm quality test. Hopefully farmers can understand artificial insemination thus able to improve its success and improving beef cattle productivity. [nien/dta/Trans. Denok].
