A beautiful student from Netherland came to Animal Husbandry Faculty of UB on last Monday (7/27). Jeanne Boekhorst is a student of animal science master program of Wageningen University, Netherland. The purpose is to do research with the topic “Actual and Potential Growth of Beef Cattle in East Java.”
Jeanne got scholarship from Netherland Government to do research for 3 months. She chose to do research in Animal Husbandry Faculty of UB recommended by Dr.Simon J Oosting as her supervisor. Simon is a lecturer at Wageningen University whose name is familiar in animal husbandry faculty. Last year he has been doing research in here about Livestock System for Tropical for 3 months.
“ I growth with animals and I think interesting to live with farmers, so that’s why I’m interested to study about animal science.” She said
To supporting her research she gonna go to visit Singosari National Artificial Insemination Centre and Feedlot at Mojosari. She would like to visit local farms in Malang but she is not speak in Indonesian.
During a week in here, she had several times visited field laboratory Sumber Sekar owned Animal Husbandry Faculty of UB. According to her , the condition of livestock in Sumber Sekar much different from livestock in NL, in there no one cattle in the stable.
