Guest Lecture on Nutrition and Poultry Feeding Strategies by Prof. Dr. Ir. Zuprizal, DEA., IPU., ASEAN Eng.

The hosting of a guest lecture that shed light on “Nutrition and Poultry Feed,” with a focus on the topic “Strategies for Providing and Procuring Poultry Feed,” was highlighted by the presence of Prof. Dr. Ir. Zuprizal, DEA., IPU., ASEAN Eng., a prominent member of the Indonesian Engineers Association in the field of Education and Curriculum for Livestock. He shared his profound insights and strategies with the students.

The session was officially opened by the dean of the faculty, Prof. Dr. Ir. M. Halim Natsir, S.Pt., MP., IPM., ASEAN Eng., and attended by all students enrolled in the course. Prof. Zuprizal’s presentation emphasized the significant growth of Indonesia’s population from 1961 to 2020, which surged from 97.2 to 270.2 million people. This demographic increase has led to a heightened consumption of animal products, especially chicken products, from eggs to meat, underscoring the need for increased chicken production through appropriate feeding practices and reducing dependence on imported feed to meet the domestic poultry feed demand.

During the lecture, Prof. Zuprizal offered interesting strategies about the provision and procurement of poultry feed, stressing the importance of self-sufficiency in poultry feed to support the rising demand for poultry products. His insights provided a valuable perspective in addressing the challenges of feed availability and affordability, ensuring sustainable poultry production in Indonesia.
