Visit of Magetan District Livestock Office to Enhance Collaboration Plans for 2024

After the Implementation of Community Service Program (KKN) by More Than 600 Students from UB’s Faculty of Animal Husbandry in Magetan Regency, the Magetan District Livestock Office Strengthens Collaboration with UB’s Faculty of Animal Science. In an effort to strengthen synergy and collaboration between the public sector and academia, the Magetan District Livestock Office paid a visit to the Faculty of Animal Science Universitas Brawijaya (UB) on December 15, 2023. The delegation from the Magetan District Livestock Office was received by the leaders of UB’s Faculty of Animal Husbandry to discuss potential collaboration plans for the year 2024.

During the meeting, Head of the Magetan District Livestock Office, Nur Haryani, conveyed the purpose of their visit, which is to strengthen the partnership with UB’s Faculty of Animal Husbandry to optimize the potential of the livestock sector in the Magetan region. “We believe that collaboration with educational institutions such as UB’s Faculty of Animal Husbandry can be the key to success in the development and improvement of the welfare of farmers in our region,” said Nur Haryani.

In response, the Dean of UB’s Faculty of Animal Science, Prof. Dr. Ir. M. Halim Natsir, S.Pt., MP., IPM., ASEAN Eng., welcomed the visit from the Magetan District Livestock Office and expressed readiness to establish mutually beneficial cooperation. “We are very open to collaborating in various fields, including research, training, and joint program development that can enhance the quality and productivity of the livestock sector,” said Prof. Dr. Ir. M. Halim Natsir, S.Pt., MP., IPM., ASEAN Eng.

The collaboration plan for 2024 between the Magetan District Livestock Office and UB’s Faculty of Animal Husbandry is expected to encompass various activities, ranging from knowledge exchange, training for local farmers, to joint research projects. With this synergy, it is hoped to make a positive contribution to the development of the livestock sector in Magetan Regency.

This visit marks a promising initial step in building sustainable collaboration between the local government and higher education institutions in supporting the development of the livestock sector at the local level. (MT)
