A lecturer from the Faculty of Animal Science at the Universitas Brawijaya took center stage as a speaker in an event organized by the Directorate General of Livestock and Animal Health (DITJEN PKH) on Thursday, December 14, 2023. The event was inaugurated by Drh. Makmun, MSc., the Secretary of the Directorate General of Livestock and Animal Health.
In this event, Danung Nur Adli, S.Pt., M.Pt.M.Sc, delivered a presentation and simulation on the utilization of bibliometrics and meta-analysis as foundations for policymaking in the field of animal husbandry. He emphasized the significance of harnessing the extensive datasets available in Indonesia, particularly in facing the era of the fourth industrial revolution.
Danung presentation garnered enthusiastic responses from various stakeholders, including representatives from the Directorate of Breeding and Livestock Production, BPTU HPT Padang Mengatas, BPMSP Bekasi, the University of Lampung, BPTU HPT Sembawa, Lampung Veterinary Office, DKPP Bintan Regency, Riau Islands, Department of Animal Husbandry and Animal Health West Sumatra Province, Nganjuk, University of Bengkulu, BBIB Singosari, BBVet Maros, Center for Quality Testing and Certification of Animal Drugs (BBPMSOH), Department of Agriculture and Food Security Lembata Regency, BSIP Large Ruminant, BSIP PKH, BPTUHPT Siborongborong, BSIP Riau, Subang Veterinary Office, BBVF Pusvetma, Denpasar Veterinary Center, DKPP West Java, Jayapura Veterinary Office, University of Jambi, BBPTU HPT Baturrade, BBPSI Veterinary, POLBANGTAN Yogjakarta-Magelang, DKPP Madiun Regency, Disbunnak Central Sulawesi, Bukittinggi Veterinary Center, Large Ruminant Standard Instrument Testing Center, and the Department of Agriculture Gorontalo Province.
With a substantial number of participants, it is evident that interest and engagement in discussing this topic are high. The questions posed by various participants provide insight that issues in the livestock sector remain a focal point of discussion.
Danung expressed hope that the efforts made through this event would yield positive benefits in the future. According to him, the proper utilization and systematic arrangement of datasets are pivotal in addressing the challenges of the big data era. Consequently, it is anticipated that the understanding of the livestock industry in Indonesia will continue to evolve in tandem with technological and scientific advancements. (MT)
