Faculty of Animal Sciency Launches Collaboration with 16 Well-known Livestock Industry Company Partners at the Peak of the 62nd Anniversary

The series of events for the 62nd Anniversary of the Faculty of Animal Sciency, Universitas Brawijaya (Fapet UB) is still continuing. These include health walks, livestock product exhibitions, job fairs, art performances, workshops and developing alumni collaborations to prepare new study programs, as well as launching collaborations with 16 well-known livestock industry company partners. The highlight of the event was held on Saturday (18/11/2023) attended by the Chancellor, Vice Chancellors, Chair of SAU, leaders in UB, collaboration partners, and the FAS academic community.

In his speech, Prof. Halim as Dean stated that through collaboration it would be a big step to bring the livestock industry and animal Sciency education to a higher level.

“We are confident that this collaboration will provide great benefits not only for faculties and companies, but also for students and society,” he said

The companies involved in the collaboration include PT. Charoen Pokphand Indonesia (cultivating laying hens/layers), PT Japfa Comfeed (Ciomas Region Malang) (cultivating broiler chickens), PT Solusi Walet Indonesia (cultivating swiftlets), PT. Kurnia Alam Sentosa Abadi (feedlot), PT. Waste Cycle Indonesia (magot business unit), KAFAPET (Faculty of Animal Sciency Alumni Family) (Protein H-UB cafe), PT Perumda Tugu Aneka Usaha Malang City (Providing Carcass Products), PT Kembang Joyo Sriwijaya (Supplying Products from Honey Bee Cultivation), PT Cita Indonesia (product production and marketing), Indonesian National Professional Certification Agency (Professional Certification Institute), Indonesian Digital Islamic Boarding School Foundation (entrepreneurship start-up), AGILE Technica (Software and Consulting Company), PT Telkomsel Digital Ecosystem (Development of Tri Dharma and Intelligence Livestock Farming based business), PT. Charoen Pokphand Indonesia (AI-based business development in the world of animal Sciency.

Meanwhile, inspirational workshops and alumni collaboration development forums were held as the first step towards preparing the Animal Sciency Study Program. The event which took place in the 8th floor Auditorium involved active participation from alumni, professors, lecturers and livestock industry practitioners. The involvement of stakeholders in formulating this study program so that FAS UB can produce outputs that are in line with the latest developments in the animal Sciency sector.

On the other hand, the momentum of this Dies Natalis presents the Wringin Lawang Temple building which is made from 6 tons of eggs with a height of 5.5 meters. The name of the temple, inspired by the name of the Majapahit gate in Trowulan, East Java, is a symbol of the unity of the government, universities, breeders and companies in building livestock. In order to advance Indonesian livestock farming while simultaneously eradicating stunting in children. After the event, the egg temple was dismantled and donated to several orphanages, homes for the disabled and Islamic boarding schools in the East Java region.

Thus, this year’s Anniversary of the Faculty of Animal Sciency is not only a celebration, but also the beginning of new achievements that will have a long-term positive impact on the development of animal Sciency science and the animal Sciency industry as a whole. (AEO)
