Develop feed additives resulting from by-products from palm oil. FAPET UB Agrees on Collaboration with PT. Nutri Pro Prima Asia

The Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Brawijaya University (FAPET UB) collaborates with PT. Nutri Pro Prima Asia. The Agreement Text was signed by Prof. M. Halim Natsir (Dean of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Brawijaya University) with Mr. TjiptoHadiono Lasmono as General Manager of Gawl Oleochemicals. (Monday, 13/11/2023).

Both agreements will last for five years. The scope of collaboration includes the development of research collaboration (research collaboration), products, guest lecturer lecture activities (visiting lecturer), as well as other tri dharma activities that are beneficial for both parties. The company, which is located in the Manyar Gresik industrial area, is currently developing feed additives derived from palm oil by-products. According to the Dean of Faculty of Animal Husbandry UB, palm oil produces a lot of livestock by-products which can be used as animal feed and even biodiesel.

Palm trees will produce palm fruit bunches which then produce crude palm oil (CPO), crude palm kernel oil (CPKO), Refined Bleached Deodorized Palm Oil (RBDPO), which consists of biodiesel, olein (cooking oil), and stearin (margarine). Followed by Palm Fatty acid distillate (PFAD) which will later produce CASalt, where this product has reached the US, said the General Manager of Gawl Oleochemicals.

Currently, Indonesia has entered the era of carbon trading, where the state must guarantee a decent life and environment for its citizens and this is the basis of Indonesia’s commitment to controlling climate change. In line with that, Indonesia is highly committed to reducing National Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions and playing a role in reducing GHG emissions globally. (AEO)
