Guest Lecture “Teaching Practitioners” Meat Animal Science and Production

Brawijaya University again provides opportunities for lecturers to collaborate with the industrial world in the teaching and learning process by launching the UB Flagship Teaching Practitioner Program in 2023. The Faculty of Animal Husbandry proposes the involvement of practitioners in this ongoing teaching process or known as “Teaching Practitioners” totaling 9 courses and 9 Practitioner. This event was held on Friday, 28/10/2023 at the 8th Floor Auditorium, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, UB. The aim of this activity is to approach students with the climate in the industrial world as an initial provision for students to see the developments and challenges that have occurred in the industrial world since they were in college. One of the lecturers who took advantage of the 2023 UB Flagship Teaching Practitioner Program from a proposal submitted by the UB Faculty of Animal Husbandry is Ir. Wike Andre Septian., S.Pt., M.Si with the subject of Meat Animal Science and Management, and the practitioner involved in the 2023 UB Flagship Teaching Practitioner activity, Mr. Mukhlas Agung Hidayat., S.Pt, is a practitioner in the meat livestock industry, namely industryfeedlot and PT Cianjur Artha Makmur Modern Animal Slaughterhouse. Mr. Mukhlas Agung Hidayat., S.Pt has been in the industry for approximately seven yearsfeedlot and modern livestock slaughter.

UB Flagship Teaching Practitioner Program in 2023. The UB Faculty of Animal Husbandry Beef Animal Science and Management course begins with six credits of online meetings and ends with a guest lecture by practitioners teaching offline at the UB Faculty of Animal Husbandry. In the UB Flagship Teaching Practitioner Program in 2023, students who took the Broiler Animal Science and Management course felt that the teaching practitioner program was enough to provide a real picture of the industrial world and inspire them to become professionals in the meat livestock industry. There are quite high hopes from students and lecturers for the Teaching Practitioner program to be maintained and to increase the involvement of practitioners in the industrial world in this program.

The achievements in the 2023 UB Flagship Teaching Practitioner Program in the 2023 Beef Animal Science and Management Subject, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, UB, are not only carrying out lecture activities, but collaboration between lecturers and practitioners producing lecture modules and improvements to the semester learning plan (RPS) in livestock science and management courses. broiler.
