On Friday, October 13 2023, the Faculty of Animal Husbandry held a guest lecture “Feed Formulation Training”. This event was held in Building 5, Floor 5, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, 13.00 – 17.30 WIB.
Feed formulation training is a crucial aspect of modern agriculture, essential for optimizing livestock and poultry production while minimizing costs and environmental impact. In recent developments, a comprehensive feed formulation training program was conducted by agricultural experts and industry professionals, aiming to equip farmers and feed manufacturers with the latest techniques and knowledge.
The training program covered various aspects of feed formulation, including ingredient selection, nutrient requirements for different animal species, and the utilization of advanced software tools for precise formulation. Participants learned how to balance the nutritional needs of livestock and poultry, taking into account factors such as age, weight, and production goals. This knowledge is vital for improving the quality of animal products, be it meat, eggs, or dairy, while reducing waste and feed costs.
The training also emphasized the importance of sustainable feed formulation, considering the environmental impact of feed production and consumption. Attendees were educated on strategies to reduce the ecological footprint of feed, including the use of alternative protein sources and minimizing food waste in the supply chain. Sustainable feed formulation is not only beneficial for the environment but also for consumers who increasingly seek products with a lower carbon footprint.
As the global demand for animal products continues to rise, proper feed formulation is crucial to ensure food security and promote responsible agriculture. By providing participants with the latest insights and tools in feed formulation, this training program contributes to the overall improvement of the livestock and poultry industry, fostering a more sustainable and efficient approach to animal farming. Such initiatives are essential in adapting to the evolving challenges of modern agriculture while safeguarding the welfare of both animals and the environment.
