Collaboration Lecturer Universitas Brawijaya (UB), which is part of the Doctor Serving team, is serving the Dairy Cattle Farmers Group in Ngadirenggo Village, Wlingi District, Blitar Regency, Saturday (29/7/2023). The team consists of Prof. Budi Hartono (Faculty of Animal Science), Prof. Tri Eko Susilorini (Faculty of Animal Science), Eko Nugroho, Ph. D. (Faculty of Animal Science), Dr. Nanang Febrianto (Faculty of Animal Science), Dr. Ary Mustofa Ahmad (Faculty of Agricultural Technology), Dr. Hermanto (Faculty of Animal Science), Sri Sulasmiyati, M.A.P. (FIA), Praise Akhiroh, M.Sc. (Faculty of Animal Husbandry), Tina Sri Purwanti, Ph. D. (Faculty of Animal Science), and Muhammad Helmi, M.Agr. sc. (Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science).

Prof. Budi said this activity was aimed at reviewing and verifying the implementation of milking hygiene procedures as part of Good Dairy Farming Practice (GDFP) after the Contagious Mastitis Disease (CMD) outbreak. The material was delivered by Prof. Tri Eko Susilorini, regarding the correct milking techniques and methods, so that the milk produced is kept hygienic, preventing the spread of disease so that dairy cows can avoid CMD.

Based on the review, it was found that some farmers had taken steps in accordance with the established milking hygiene procedures. This includes the use of sterile tools and equipment, as well as regular cleaning of stalls and milking equipment.

The DM UB team appreciates the efforts and commitment of dairy farmers in implementing milking hygiene procedures. They hope that the steps that have been described in the previous materials as well as those that have been implemented will continue to be maintained and improved in order to maintain the health of livestock and the quality of milk production in the future. The team also donated boots and milking equipment so that farmers are able to implement milking hygiene procedures.

The participants were very enthusiastic by actively asking and responding to several questions submitted by the speaker. The participants are dairy farmers and also several mentors from industries such as Nestle. (tim/dta)
