The State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) of the Republic of Indonesia have a Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program for Indonesia, called Relawan Bakti BUMN. This program collaborates with experts from outside BUMN to serve the community. The experts deployed came from the Faculty of Animal Science (Fapet) and the Faculty of Health Sciences (Fikes) Universitas Brawijaya (UB).
The UB team is chaired by Rizki Prafitri, Ph.D. (Fapet), consisting of Dr. Marjuki (Fapet),Wike Andre Septian, M.Sc. (Fapet), Prof. Tri Eko Susilorini (Fapet), and Dr. Nia Novita Wirawan (Fikes). As well as involving teaching assistants from Faculty of Animal Husbandry, namely Dr. Faizal Andri, Muhammad Pramujo, M.Si., Doni Herviyanto, M.Pt., Filoza Marwi, M.Pt, andPuji Akhiroh, M.Sc.
The activity was carried out in Pandesari Village, Pujon District, Malang Regency, for 13 days, 5 to 17 August 2023, which was attended by 30 farmers. This collaboration aims to overcome the problems faced by farmers there. Such as management of cages, waste, milk processing, and handling of stunting.
Rizki said most of the peoplePandesari Village have a livelihood as a breeder who has problems related to livestock. Among them are the stables that are close to the house, the problem of livestock waste, and the imbalance in child nutrition even in locations where there is an abundance of milk production. So they need to be given counseling as well as assistance as a solution to overcome these obstacles.
MThe socialized material includes the management of family-friendly livestock pens, the management of livestock waste into compost, and the handling of stunting.Meanwhile though Bakti BUMN volunteer are not familiar with the world of animal husbandry, but they are enthusiastic and passionate about accompanying experts and going directly to the dairy cow pen.
