Realize Learning Effectiveness by Increasing Knowledge Through the 3 in 1 Program

The Department of Animal Husbandry Socio-Economics, Faculty of Animal Science, Universitas Brawijaya (Fapet UB) held a 3 in 1 guest lecture program. That is a learning program that involves lecturers from abroad and animal husbandry practitioners in the teaching and learning process.

The goal is to bridge students to gain knowledge and broader insights. As well as increasing cooperation between Fapet UB and other institutions so that they can compete in the national and international realms.

The activities which were carried out from May to June 2023 were guided by Puji Akhiroh, M.Sc., Dr. Nanang Febrianto, and Tina Sri Purwanti., Ph.D. The participants were undergraduate program students (S1) who taught business economics courses. While the speakers broughtProf. grandfather Dr. Mad Nasir Shamsudin (Lecturer at the Faculty of Agriculture, Putra Malaysia University with an interest in Agribusiness and Biodiversity Economics) and Dian Sidhi Nugroho S.Pt., MP. (Practitioner from DSM-Firmenich Company).

Lectures are divided into four meetings held every Friday. Topics covered include the Economic Perspective of Agro Entrepreneurship, Measuring Factors Influencing Demand and Supply of Agricultural Products, Forecasting Demand and Supply of Agricultural Products, Planning and Management of Agribusiness Projects, Feasibility Analysis of Livestock Businesses, Corporate Financial Statements and Business Organization and Ownership in the Industry Farm.

According to Prof. Nasir, economics is the process of changing limited resources into something or products that are not limited, or creating products with minimal capital and obtaining large profits. The company is a change or creative creation of economic value along the agribusiness supply chain. Meanwhile, the factors that affect the demand and supply of a company’s products are price, quality and quantity which are often considered by consumers in choosing a product.

Meanwhile, Dian explained about the transparency of financial reports in a company. Then financial reports should be easily accessible via the web or Google, in which they contain data on profit or loss reports, production and resource management. (tim/dta)
