Faculty of Animal Husbandry Lecturer Obtains Halal Slaughtering Professional Certification

Lecturer Department livestock production and processing of livestock products Faculty of Animal Science, Universitas Brawijaya (Fapet UB) took part in the slaughtering professional certification, Wednesday (24/5/2023). They consist of Dr. Agus Susilo (Department Livestock Product Technology), Dr. Khotibul Umam (Department Livestock Product Technology), Wike Andre Septian, M.Sc. (Department Livestock Production), and Faizal Andri, M.Pt. (Department of Livestock Production).

Located atIslamic Center Surabaya, the event is a forum for accelerating the halal industry in East Java. Namely, efforts to realize the strengthening of halal slaughterhouses (juleha) and halal slaughterhouses (RPH).The juleha professional certificate was given directly by the Governor of East Java, Dra. Khofifah Indar Parawansa, M.Si.

He said strengthening the halal industry through juleha certification was very important because there were still animal slaughter processes that did not meet the halal requirements. AMoreover, the majority of Indonesian people, especially East Java, are Muslims.

“The halal product is not only seen from the ingredients but the slaughtering process.” said Khofifah (dta)
