Students of the Doctoral Program in Animal Science, Faculty of Animal Science, Universitas Brawijaya (Fapet UB) face an open dissertation exam, Wednesday (15/3/2023). The exam was conducted in the senate courtroom on the 6th floor on behalf of Amam, S.Pt., M.P. Together with the supervising lecturer Prof. Budi Hartono and Dr. Umi Wisaptiningsih, Amma carried out a research entitled “Model for Development of Resource Accessibility for Broiler Livestock Business Independent Systems and Partnerships”.

The lecturer at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Jember is of the opinion that the accessibility of livestock business resources is the ability of breeders to access the availability of resources that play a role in livestock business development. Therefore this research was conducted to formulate indicators of resources that can be accessed by broiler breeders with independent systems and partnerships that support livestock business development. As well as analyzing the business development model based on the accessibility of breeders to resources.

The research was conducted on broiler farms with independent systems and partnership systems using observation and survey methods. The research respondents were 504 broiler breeders consisting of 42 independent breeders; 44 breeders of a profit sharing partnership system; 126 breeders with a general trade partnership system; 158 farmers with subcontract partnership system; and 134 breeders of the plasma core partnership system.

Based on research results obtained some conclusions. Among other things, the independent system broiler business development model is directly supported by land tenure, air pollution levels, and maintaining good relations with animal health workers. The broiler farming business development model with a profit-sharing partnership system is directly supported by broiler livestock business income, mastery of feed technology, cage ownership, formal farmer education, and utilization of agricultural waste for animal feed.

Meanwhile, the broiler livestock business development model, the general trade pattern partnership system, is directly supported by household electricity ownership, and the utilization of livestock manure waste for plant fertilizer. Then the broiler farming business development model is the plasma core partnership system by maintaining good relations with the core company by maintaining the performance of broiler farm production.

In the broiler farming business development model, the subcontract partnership system is directly supported by the number of broilers kept, housing management, ownership of communication facilities in physical resources, credibility of breeders, and utilization of livestock manure as plant fertilizer.
