KIM Serving IX: Socializing Diseases, AI Management, and Yogurt Processing in Wonoagung Village, Malang Regency

The scientific-based Student Activity Unit (UKM) Student Scientific Group (KIM) of the Faculty of Animal Science, Universitas Brawijaya (Fapet UB), held community service activities in Wonoagung Village, Kasembon District – Malang Regency. Titled “KIM Serves IX Faculty of Animal Science UB”, this activity is one of KIM’s work programs which is routinely carried out every year. The participants were KIM members who were called young servants.

The series of activities carried out included disease socialization and management of artificial insemination in dairy cattle, Friday (3/2/2023). As well as processing milk into yogurt to increase micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), Saturday (4/2/2023).

Dissemination of disease and management of artificial insemination is given to livestock groups. The material was delivered by UB Faculty of Animal Husbandry Lecturer, Dr.drh. Rositawati Indrati, M.P. and Dr. Achargai Rachmawati, S.Pt.,M.Sc. The aim is to provide an understanding of disease control in dairy cows. Besides, breeders can also find out the determining factors for the success of artificial insemination.

Meanwhile, the training on processing milk into yogurt was attended by PKK members from Wonoagung Village, Malang Regency. The speaker that was brought in was Sularso, a student of Faculty of Animal Science UB who is a member of the Entrepreneurial Student Organization of the Successful People’s Front (BOS). According to him, this training is to add economic value from livestock products by diversifying milk into yogurt in order to increase MSMEs. (dta)
