After Doing the Thematic KKN, Fapet Students Say Goodbye to the Magetan Community

The Thematic Real Work Lecture Program (KKNT) in 2022, Faculty of Animal Science, Universitas Brawijaya (Fapet UB) was carried out in Magetan Regency for one month. Namely from June 28 to July 28, 2022, with a total of 661 students.

Accompanied by 20 Field Supervisors (DPL), the participants were divided into 40 groups placed in 40 villages in six sub-districts. Among them are Panekan District, Sidorejo District, Plaosan District, Ngariboyo District, Poncol District, and Parang District.

According to Vice Dean III, Dr. Agus Susilo, S.Pt., M.P., IPM., ASEAN Eng, the work programs that have been carried out by students are the preparation of village livestock profiles, counseling on nail and mouth diseases, counseling and planting animal feed, entrepreneurial development, inspirational classes, and activities with community members.

“In addition, there are also training activities on the cultivation and marketing of honey bees, rabbit livestock and processed, as well as maggots carried out for the District level,” added Agus, who acts as the chief executive of KKNT.

“As well as monitoring the implementation of Eid al-Adha activities and donations of sacrificial animals in collaboration with livestock for the duafa people in Genggong Hamlet, Randugede Village,” he said.

He conveyed this at the closing of the KKNT event which was held at the Surya Graha Pavilion, Wednesday (27/7/2022). The event was attended by the Regent of Magetan accompanied by the Deputy Regent, Head of the Magetan Livestock and Fisheries Service, Head of Bakesbangpol, Deputy Dean I of Fapet UB, representatives of the Sub-District, and representatives of DPL.

“We apologize to the Magetan Regency government and the community if in the implementation of KKNT there are words or behaviors from our children that are not polite and offensive. This is their first experience participating in offline activities and going into the field. Because these children are the class of 2020, from the orientation period to lectures, which are carried out online,” said Agus.

“As a memento, we present a song about the milk village. We give the song and copyright as an effort to develop the dairy industry and tourism in Magetan Regency,” he continued.

Meanwhile, the Regent of Magetan, Dr. Drs. Suprawoto, S.H., M.Si expressed his gratitude to Fapet UB for helping the magetan community map the potential of livestock in each village.

“We hope that this KKNT event will provide a meaningful life and learning experience for students. Keep the spirit of learning for my children because the future of Indonesian animal husbandry is in your hands,” he concluded (dta)
