Regency Magetan Regency is an area in East Java Province which has geographical conditions in the highlands with an altitude between 60-1660 meters above sea level. So that it supports the development of the agricultural and livestock sectors, because the cold air temperature is suitable for dairy cows.
Taking a look at this potential, the Faculty of Animal Science Universitas Brawijaya (Fapet UB) has a plan to develop an independent livestock village in Magetan Regency. The realization will be carried out through Thematic Real Work Lectures (KKN-T) for undergraduate students (S1).
KKN-T is a learning program to increase students’ insight and ability to interact with the community. In addition, students can identify and develop the potential of the destination village. And find existing problems and solutions. KKN-T is part of the Higher Education KKN program which can be appreciated with credit recognition (SKS) and certificates of community service.
The activity was intended for undergraduate students of Fapet UB and the PSDKU Kediri Animal Husbandry Study Program class of 2020, which amounted to approximately 656 students. They will be divided into 40 groups and placed in 40 villages.
Among others, Jabung Village, Ngiliran Village, Bedagung Village, Sukowidi Village, Wates Village, Desa. Milangasri, Cepoko Village, Sumberdodol Village, Terung Village, Tanjungsari Village, Tapak Village, Sumbersawit Village, Sidomulyo Village, Getasanyar Village, Sambirobyong Village, Campursari Village, Widorokandang Village, Sidokerto Village, Durenan Village, Sendangagung Village, Randugede Village, Sumberagung Village, Dadi Village, Ngancar Village, Pacalan Village, Kel. Sarangan, Bulugunung Village, Pendem Village, Janggan Village, Plangkrongan Village, Balegondo Village, Sumberdukun Village, Bangsri Village, Selopanggung Village, Banjarejo Village, Mojopurno Village, Banyudono Village, Joketro Village, Nglopang Village, and Krajan Village.
The team will depart at the end of June and will stay in the placement village for one month. Before going into the field, participants were provided with materials by the field assistant lecturers and officers from the Department of Animal Husbandry and Fisheries of Magetan Regency.
