Initial Implementation of Hybrid Learning at Fapet UB

Following the Chancellor’s Circular number 411/UN10.F05/DI.04/2022 states that lecture activities are even semesters of TA. Therefore, 2021/2022, after the Mid-Semester Examination at Universitas Brawijaya (UB), will take place in a hybrid. That is a combination of online and offline with a capacity of 50%.

Faculty of Animal Science (Fapet) starts hybrid starting Monday (4/4/2022). The mechanism is that odd NIM students enter in odd semesters while even NIM students enter even semesters. However, students who attend must meet requirements, such as receiving at least one vaccine, checking temperature, scanning QR care to protect, and washing hands or using hand sanitizer before entering campus.

The first day of the hybrid face-to-face meeting was orderly; approximately 40% of students attending campus were divided into several sessions. The duration of the lecture is shortened to only 60 minutes; after the class is over, students are required to leave campus. Students waiting for their turn to class in the next session are allowed to stay in the pavilion for no more than 15 minutes.

The classrooms used are rooms 1-3 in the building I and rooms 6-22 in building V. Each class is equipped with an LCD projector and 360˚ smart camera, where the sensor can follow every lecturer’s movement and zoom in zoom out through the palm detector. And there are four intelligent classes in rooms 16, 17, 20, and 21. At the same time, the smart class is equipped with a PC, smart LCD projector, smart TV, and audio.

On the other hand, some lecturers had problems using a 360˚ smart camera in each class to support learning. However, class service officers are always on standby in every building to help operate the camera. (dta)
