Discuss Preparation for Implementation of MBKM Dean Visits PT. Semesta Mitra Sejahtera, Pasuruan

Faculty of Animal Science Universitas Brawijaya (Fapet UB), represented by Prof. M. Halim Natsir (Vice Dean I) and Dr. Agus Susilo (Vice Dean II), visited PT. Semesta Mitra Sejahtera Pasuruan Branch – East Java, Thursday (17/3/2022). The purpose of the visit was to discuss implementing the Merdeka Learning Campus Merdeka (MBKM) program, starting from the preparation stage to the material to be given to students.

The Faculty implements the MBKM program in universities by cooperating with partners from the business world and the industrial world as internship locations. However, the internship is carried out for an extended period, namely for one semester, equivalent to taking 20 credits, so the assessment of these activities will be included in specific courses.

According to Halim, the extension of the internship period can improve the quality of learning in higher education because students can better absorb knowledge from industry and apply theory from college. As well as providing flexibility to companies in guiding students to explore the industrial world.

PT. Semesta Mitra Sejahtera is engaged in Poultry Slaughterhouse (RPHU) and is part of a well-known poultry company, namely Charoen Pokphand Group. (dta)
