A student of the Faculty of Animal Science Universitas Brawijaya (Fapet UB), Mohammad Syahrial follows the campus teaching program. He was placed at SDN Gayam 2 Kediri for five months, from August 2 to December 17, 2021. Together with Dr. Dedes Amertaningtyas, S.Pt. MP, as a supervisor, created a work program called reading corner, namely Project-Based Learning, an adaptation of administrative technology and management of applications E-Learning.
According to Syahrial, the problem at SDN Gayam 2 is the sociological condition of the community and educators who do not support the adaptive and innovative learning process during the pandemic. The analysis was obtained from coordination with the local Education Office and schools.
The teaching campus is a program initiated by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology in collaboration with the Directorate of Elementary Schools and the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs. The goal is to provide opportunities and challenges for students facing the pandemic period to develop themselves to provide an equitable education.
The program participants are students and lecturers from universities from all over Indonesia. Then the placement selection is adjusted to the scientific field by the Ministry of Education and Culture, Research and Technology. In its implementation, students are directly involved in making a real contribution to sustainability, which is more synergistic to support national education. Meanwhile, the lecturer becomes the supervising lecturer to provide some additional innovations.
The intended targets are Elementary School (SD) and Junior High School (SMP) levels, affected by 3T (Front, Disadvantaged, and Outermost). The campus teaching schedule is divided into three activities. First, pre-assignment is carried out by debriefing students and coordinating with the Education Office and local schools. Second is the assignment stage, where students go to school to implement the work program that has been prepared. The final step is an assignment in which students report directly to the Ministry of Education and Culture, Research and Technology and evaluate the impact of implementation while participating in the program.
