Implementing the Independent Learning Campus (MBKM) program at the Faculty of Animal Husbandry Universitas Brawijaya (Fapet UB) is carried out by expanding industrial locations as a certified internship destination for students. Therefore, currently, the UB Faculty of Animal Husbandry lecturers team is keen to attract livestock companies to cooperate.

One of them is PT. Cibadak Indah Sari Farm (CISF) is a supplier of high-quality poultry products. The plan was discussed through an offline meeting in the room meeting dean’s, 8th floor, Friday (14/1/2022).

Prof. M. Halim Natsir led the event as Deputy Dean I accompanied by Deputy Dean II and the MBKM team. Meanwhile, CISF was represented by the Director, Ir. Theo Tomahuw, with the team.

The certified internship is an internship activity for one semester, equivalent to taking 20 credits, so these activities’ assessment will be included in specific courses.

“The number of internships per credit is 40 hours, which means students have to work 8-9 hours for 5-6 days,” Halim explained.

According to him, the extension of the internship period can improve higher education quality because students can better absorb knowledge from industry and apply theory from college. As well as providing flexibility to companies in guiding students to explore the industrial world.

On the other hand, it supports the MBKM learning system by exploring student competencies so that when they graduate, they are ready to use for industry and do entrepreneurship when they graduate. (dta)
